ETS-3800 Encoder Test System Results

spacer

Results provided by the ETS-3800 include:

1. Direction of Rotation. Limit choices are CW, CCW or NA. The test result stored to the database and displayed on the test screen is CW, CCW or None. "None" would apply to single-track encoders.

2. The number of "A" pulses through one revolution. Limit set is the CPR (counts per revolution) for the Encoder P/N being tested. Any deviation from this number is considered a failure. The test result stored to the database and displayed on the test screen is the Number of "A" Pulses per Revolution.

3. The mean duty cycle (electrical) measurements of all "A" pulses though one revolution. The duty cycles for each of the "A" pulses through one revolution are measured and the mean value calculated then compared to a preset limit for that Encoder P/N. Example: "A" Mean Duty Cycle Limit set to 180°±10°. If the "A" mean duty cycles falls within this range the test is passed, otherwise, the test is failed. The test result stored to the database and displayed on the test screen is the "A" Mean Duty Cycle in electrical degrees.

4. The minimum duty cycle (electrical) measurements of all "A" pulses through one revolution. The duty cycles for each of the "A" pulses through one revolution are measured and the minimum value determined then compared to a preset limit for that Encoder P/N. Example: "A" Minimum Duty Cycle Limit set to 170°. If all "A" duty cycles within one revolution are above this limit, the test is passed, otherwise, the test is failed. The test result stored to the database and displayed on the test screen is the "A" Minimum Duty Cycle in electrical degrees.

5. The maximum duty cycle (electrical) measurements of all "A" pulses through one revolution. The duty cycles for each of the "A" pulses through one revolution are measured and the maximum value determined then compared to a preset limit for that Encoder P/N. Example: "A" Maximum Duty Cycle Limit set to 190°. If all "A" duty cycles within one revolution are below this limit, the test is passed, otherwise, the test is failed. . The test result stored to the database and displayed on the test screen is the "A" Maximum Duty Cycle in electrical degrees.

6. The number of "B" pulses through one revolution. Limit set is the CPR (counts per revolution) for the Encoder P/N being tested. Any deviation from this number is considered a failure. The test result stored to the database and displayed on the test screen is the Number of "B" Pulses per Revolution.

7. The mean duty cycle (electrical) measurements of all "B" pulses though one revolution. The duty cycles for each of the "B" pulses through one revolution are measured and the mean value calculated then compared to a preset limit for that Encoder P/N. Example: "B" Mean Duty Cycle Limit set to 180°±10°. If "B" mean duty cycles falls within this range, the test is passed, otherwise, the test is failed. The test result stored to the database and displayed on the test screen is the "B" Mean Duty Cycle in electrical degrees.

8. The minimum duty cycle (electrical) measurements of all "B" pulses through one revolution. The duty cycles for each of the "B" pulses through one revolution are measured and the minimum value determined then compared to a preset limit for that Encoder P/N. Example: "A" Minimum Duty Cycle Limit set to 170°. If all "B" duty cycles within one revolution are above this limit, the test is passed, otherwise, the test is failed. The test result stored to the database and displayed on the test screen is the "B" Minimum Duty Cycle in electrical degrees.

9. The maximum duty cycle (electrical) measurements of all "B" pulses through one revolution. The duty cycles for each of the "B" pulses through one revolution are measured and the maximum value determined then compared to a preset limit for that Encoder P/N. Example: "B" Maximum Duty Cycle Limit set to 190°. If all "B" duty cycles within one revolution are below this limit, the test is passed, otherwise, the test is failed. The test result stored to the database and displayed on the test screen is the "B" Maximum Duty Cycle in electrical degrees.

10. The mean phase shift (electrical) between all "A" and "B" pulses though one revolution. The phase shift between each set of "A" to "B" pulses through one revolution are measured and the mean value calculated then compared to a preset limit for that Encoder P/N. Example: "A" to "B" Mean Phase Shift Limit set to 90°±10°. If the "A" to "B" mean phase shift falls within this range, the test is passed, otherwise, the test is failed. The test result stored to the database and displayed on the test screen is the "A" to "B" Mean Phase Shift in electrical degrees.

11. The minimum phase shift (electrical) between all "A" and "B" pulses though one revolution. The phase shift between each set of "A" to "B" pulses through one revolution are measured and the minimum value determined then compared to a preset limit for that Encoder P/N. Example: "A" to "B" Minimum Phase Shift Limit set to 80°. If the minimum "A" to "B" phase shift is above this limit the test is passed, otherwise, the test is failed. The test result stored to the database and displayed on the test screen is the "A" to "B" Minimum Phase Shift in electrical degrees.

12. The maximum phase shift (electrical) between all "A" and "B" pulses though one revolution. The phase shift between each set of "A" to "B" pulses through one revolution are measured and the maximum value determined then compared to a preset limit for that Encoder P/N. Example: "A" to "B" Maximum Phase Shift Limit set to 100°. If the maximum "A" to "B" phase shift is below this limit the test is passed, otherwise, the test is failed. The test result stored to the database and displayed on the test screen is the "A" to "B" Maximum Phase Shift in electrical degrees.

13. The Duty Cycle of "Z" with Respect to "A" in Electrical Degrees. Example: "Z" Duty Cycle Limit set to 90°±10. If the "Z" duty cycle falls within the preset limit, the test is passed, otherwise, the test fails. The test result stored to the database and displayed on the test screen is the "Z" Duty Cycle in electrical degrees.

14. The "A" to "Z" Phase Shift in Electrical Degrees. Example: "A" to "Z" 90°±2°. If the "A" to "Z" phase shift falls within the preset limits, the test is passed, otherwise, the test fails. The test result stored to the database and displayed on the test screen is the "A" to "Z" Phase Shift in electrical degrees.

15. The "B" to "Z" Phase Shift in Electrical Degrees. Example: "B" to "Z" 0°±2°. If the "B" to "Z" phase shift falls within the preset limits, the test is passed, otherwise, the test fails. The test result stored to the database and displayed on the test screen is the "B" to "Z" Phase Shift in electrical degrees.
